👖 Blue jeans, shock and choices to make
Hey hey hey beloved!
Lately I’ve been thinking about buying jeans, which reminded me of how an old pair helped me embrace some of my weaknesses and limitations – and might help you, too!
👖 Blue jeans: An origin story
Once in high school, I was so excited to go shopping for jeans after my latest paycheck. I zipped over to the store, tried on multiple pairs, and celebrated finding a great one to take home.
A few days later, I look down to discover that my jeans were distressed! How did I not notice that?!
It was at that moment that I realized, “Physical details are so NOT my strength!”
Fortunately, my initial shock didn’t stop me from continuing to enjoy my pants.
And… it reminded me to double-check clothes before I bought them – did I really know what I was buying?! ; )
🤔 How this relates to you, Reader…
You’ve probably had your own “distressed blue jeans” moments and wonder, “How did I miss THAT?!” You could…
- Beat yourself up for not being perfect
- Ignore it and hope it never happens again
- Embrace your limitation and be a little more intentional moving forward
Friend, I really hope you choose option 3. It’s SO much more life-giving. (And if you don’t this time, try it another time!) Over the next few weeks we’ll be digging into the benefits of embracing your weaknesses and limitations, practical ways to do it, personality type tips, and a yoga pep talk, too! It’s going to be freeing!
🙋 In the meantime, what do you tend to focus on – ALL the details or the BIG picture? Hit reply, I’d love to know!
Reader, live intentionally with passion and purpose as God’s beloved!
