In case you missed it: You deserve so much better than this
If you’ve ever felt like you’re too much or not enough, grab your coffee mug and let’s chat.
If you feel like no one quite understands your struggle (i.e. why you’re so driven to achieve and meet others’ expectations like all. the. time.), take a deep breath and let it out.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re too… loud, quiet, thoughtful, expressive, energetic, tender-hearted, logical, easily drained (any of the “too’s”!), let’s get real.
You see, sometimes it’s all too easy to let the voices of others tell you who you are.
That you’ve been given a big fat F with a weird personality, no purpose, too many passions and need to dial back who you are.
I’m here to tell you that’s a lie.
You, beloved, are not a failure.
You are not a disappointment.
You are exactly where you are right now for a reason.
And if you’ve ever been given the impression that someone else has a better personality or purpose or passions – they’re flat out wrong. Rather…
You are God’s work of art – renewed by Christ – to live an incredible, purposeful, passionate life. In fact, the Holy Spirit gives each of us unique special abilities, types of ministry, gifts in serving and ways to work.
You have been given unique gifts (including your personality!) to unwrap, enjoy and share in the world.
… even if you’re introverted or extroverted.
… more tough-minded or tender-hearted.
… spontaneous or a hard-core planner.
… a dreamer or your feet are planted firmly on the ground.
When we try to take on #allthethings in an effort to be more who we “should” be – we miss out on So. Much. (Enter: overwhelm, exhaustion, and dissatisfaction.)
… and you deserve so much more than hustling for the sake of approval from others or by trying to outrun your “not enoughism” feelings.
You deserve the satisfaction of creating a life you can be proud of. One where you’re able to be undistracted in conversations, prioritizing what fills your cup (and reducing what drains it), excited about 90% of what’s on your plate for the day, and unashamed of who you are and Whose you are.
… and beating yourself up (or letting others bully you) about who you are and who you’re not – isn’t good enough for you.
You’re called for more.
You’re called to thrive.
Embracing your personality doesn’t mean you’re selfish or lazy. In fact, it means that you’re taking ownership of what you’ve been given and can be more intentional with what gets your attention because you know yourself better. (Winning!)
We’ll talk more about that soon, but this is your big fat permission slip to embrace your unique, stunning God-given personality – with all its quirks and confusing bits, too – and rip off the crappy “too much” and “not enough” labels that have been with you for far too long.
Ever found yourself struggling with a “too much” or “not enough” label? Hit reply with the first few words that come to mind. We’re letting those labels go – starting today.
Beloved, live intentionally with passion and purpose as God’s beloved!

I’m Cortney, a recovering over-achiever and God’s beloved who loves helping fellow Christian women like you embrace your God-given gifts so you have the confidence to live authentically.
I’m also a full-time mama to two sweet little boys, wife to my best friend, motivational speaker, and part-time Christian life coach. Chai lattes, strong coffee, podcasts, yoga, dance, and fairy tales nourish my soul and add sweetness to life.
Discovering the joy of embracing my God-given gifts and who He created me to be was a game-changer—a journey that brought freedom, unexpected delights, and relief from guilt. Finally, I felt free to be myself and ditch the pressure of being someone I wasn’t.
Incorporating those gifts into my day—from weekly planning to deciding on commitments, nurturing my marriage, and parenting—transformed everything. Now, I can’t imagine life without the perspective of fully embracing who God created me to be. I was missing so much without it!
