Sharing one of my favorite questions for becoming the best version of yourself
Hey there, Beloved,
Last week I promised to send you some super simple and fun activities/ideas to try out as you settle into the new year.
-> The first step was to read 4 personality tips to help you set your intentions (or decide your word of the year).
-> The second mini-bonus step: note your biggest takeaway from the post. It’s all fun and games to read articles, but the important thing is to DO something with that information. (Totally preaching to myself here, too.)
… which brings us to today’s idea for leaning into your 2024 with more joy, peace, and all-around goodness.
Take a deep breath. Roll back your shoulders and ask yourself this question:
Who do I want to become this year?
Really take a moment to think about it and dream BIG.
Stuck on where to begin? Here’s a few suggestions to drill it down further:
- What kind of person do you want to be in your faith walk?
- What kind of energy do you want to bring into your days?
- Who do you want to be as a woman, leader, friend, spouse, mother, etc.?
You don’t have to answer every single question above (or you might get overwhelmed and that’s NOT helpful). But just consider who you want to become this year.
Personally, this simple question, “Who do I want to become this year?” has been a powerful, motivational anchor point for choosing my focus, setting goals, pouring into relationships and so much more. (And it’s helped me become far more effective with my time, energy, and, perhaps more importantly, enjoy life more. I want that for you, too!)
I’d love to share more about that with you in another message, but will stop here so you can get to dreaming.
Go ahead and take a moment to ask yourself “Who do I want to become this year?” Write it down, record yourself saying it out loud, do whatever helps YOU remember that big dream and keep it handy for my next message.
You can live intentionally with passion and purpose as God’s beloved right now (without bucketloads of pressure).

Discovering the joy of embracing my God-given gifts and who He created me to be was a game-changer—a journey that brought freedom, unexpected delights, and relief from guilt. Finally, I felt free to be myself and ditch the pressure of being someone I wasn’t.
Incorporating those gifts into my day—from weekly planning to deciding on commitments, nurturing my marriage, and parenting—transformed everything. Now, I can’t imagine life without the perspective of fully embracing who God created me to be. I was missing so much without it!
