☕💘That weird nook in your house
Hi Beloved!
How do you take your coffee? Tea? Do you even drink caffeine at all? Hit reply, I’d love to hear!
And if you don’t, you’re still welcome! My favorite person in the world doesn’t, either!
Come over to one of my favorite spots in our kitchen for some creamy coffee, black tea or your beverage of choice to talk about how an awkward nook went from being “meh” to cup-filling… which is a lot like what it means to live like you’re God’s beloved.
Originally, it was my least favorite part of the kitchen with its tiny drawer and hard-to-access bottom cabinet. I struggled with seeing its potential.
When I shifted from “this corner sucks!” to “what are the possibilities?” I realized:
- The drawer was just right for storing tea.
- The bottom cabinet was excellent for my coffee pot.
- The cabinet above was perfect for storing coffee, mugs, a frother, etc.!
Now instead of looking at this corner as less-than, it’s a place for joy.
What does a kitchen corner have to do with living like God’s beloved?
When you’re living as God’s beloved, you’re freed to embrace the potential He’s given you. Since you’re living in a state of grace, you see opportunities where previously you saw only weaknesses and failings.
Rather than beating yourself up for being “too much” or “not enough,” you can lean into the reality that:
You are His. And that totally changes everything.
This is your gentle reminder that you are full of potential to live intentionally with passion and purpose as God’s beloved.

I’m also a full-time mama to two sweet little boys, wife to my best friend, motivational speaker, and part-time Christian life coach. Chai lattes, strong coffee, podcasts, yoga, dance, and fairy tales nourish my soul and add sweetness to life.
Discovering the joy of embracing my God-given gifts and who He created me to be was a game-changer—a journey that brought freedom, unexpected delights, and relief from guilt. Finally, I felt free to be myself and ditch the pressure of being someone I wasn’t.
Incorporating those gifts into my day—from weekly planning to deciding on commitments, nurturing my marriage, and parenting—transformed everything. Now, I can’t imagine life without the perspective of fully embracing who God created me to be. I was missing so much without it!
