Over-achiever? Perfectionist? Let’s talk.
Hey beloved,
Does the idea of talking about your weaknesses make you nervous? After all, its waaay more fun to celebrate what we rock at than dig into all the messy, icky stuff we struggle with.
And if you’re someone who tends to be an over-achiever and somewhat of a perfectionist, it can be downright painful to get real about our struggles!
|
It doesn’t have to be that way.
You see, as we dig into the idea of owning our weaknesses during the coming weeks, we’re NOT going to approach it with:
- Guilt and shame
- Pride and a refusal to grow
Neither mindset helps us embrace our potential as God’s beloved or live more intentionally with passion and purpose!
Rather, we’ll approach owning our weaknesses like this:
That’s it! Rather than beating yourself up for all the things you do imperfectly, you can give yourself the grace to admit that you struggle with…
- Cooking
- Crafting
- Organizing your pantry
- Leading team meetings
- Using a schedule
- etc.
By simply naming your struggle, you’re taking a HUGE step toward becoming more intentional with your time and energy. (We’ll explore the next step soon!)
For instance, here’s some things I struggle with:
- Crafting
- Relationship conflicts
- Running errands and administrative phone calls
- Household maintenance (i.e. changing air filters, washing my car, etc.)
- Not being detail-oriented
- Being present to the here and now
Want to get a head start on this? Start jotting down what you find difficult or challenging. (Guilty, self-defeating thoughts not welcome!)

Live intentionally with passion and purpose as God’s beloved!

I’m Cortney, a recovering over-achiever and God’s beloved who loves helping fellow Christian women like you embrace your God-given gifts so you have the confidence to live authentically.
I’m also a full-time mama to two sweet little boys, wife to my best friend, motivational speaker, and part-time Christian life coach. Chai lattes, strong coffee, podcasts, yoga, dance, and fairy tales nourish my soul and add sweetness to life.
Discovering the joy of embracing my God-given gifts and who He created me to be was a game-changer—a journey that brought freedom, unexpected delights, and relief from guilt. Finally, I felt free to be myself and ditch the pressure of being someone I wasn’t.
Incorporating those gifts into my day—from weekly planning to deciding on commitments, nurturing my marriage, and parenting—transformed everything. Now, I can’t imagine life without the perspective of fully embracing who God created me to be. I was missing so much without it!
