4 super simple + powerful qs for those kind of days
Hey there beloved!
Last post we talked about how you’re still God’s beloved – even when you’re feeling like a hot mess – because that relationship status doesn’t change. Woohoo!
But what do you do when you’re smack dab in a making-ya-crazy kind of day?
Set a 1-2 minute timer and respond to ONE of these questions
What’s are your current challenges?
If you can name it, you can claim it – and move forward. Dump anything and everything that’s putting you on edge. Here’s some ideas to get you started:
- Too tight pants
- Whiny kid voices
- So hangry…
- Down to the wire for your Big Deal project.
What are your “right now” quick wins?
i.e. something that requires minimal effort but gives you a healthy sense of control.
- Stop ignoring your bladder!
- Step outside for 1 minute.
- Drink a cup of water.
- Close your eyes and breathe.
What can you drop or give a C+ effort?
- Easy supper – i.e. frozen dish or to-go.
- You’re feeling over-peopled, so you postpone calling your mom.
- Remove items from your to-do list for the day, week or even the moth
What’s freaking you out the most?
Actually articulating your fears…
- Your family will fall apart.
- You’re the worst parent ever.
- You’ll get fired and never get another job again .
- You’ll never feel good in your skin again.
… can give you clarity from the crazy talk.
You ready? Set a 1-2 minute timer and quickly jot down your answers to ONE of these questions. Notice how you feel. That’s all!
Live intentionally with passion and purpose as God’s beloved!
Cortney
P.S. I actually use these questions on a weekly basis – not just hot mess moments – to be more intentional with my time and energy.

I’m Cortney, a recovering over-achiever and God’s beloved who loves helping fellow Christian women like you embrace your God-given gifts so you have the confidence to live authentically.
I’m also a full-time mama to two sweet little boys, wife to my best friend, motivational speaker, and part-time Christian life coach. Chai lattes, strong coffee, podcasts, yoga, dance, and fairy tales nourish my soul and add sweetness to life.
Discovering the joy of embracing my God-given gifts and who He created me to be was a game-changer—a journey that brought freedom, unexpected delights, and relief from guilt. Finally, I felt free to be myself and ditch the pressure of being someone I wasn’t.
Incorporating those gifts into my day—from weekly planning to deciding on commitments, nurturing my marriage, and parenting—transformed everything. Now, I can’t imagine life without the perspective of fully embracing who God created me to be. I was missing so much without it!
