☕💘You’re not a house…

Hey Beloved!

Earlier this year, my family moved into our new house in a new development. Most days, Little Man and I go exploring the neighborhood and see other houses come together – from foundation to completion – at least on the outside.

… which made me think about YOU and your journey to living intentionally with passion and purpose as God’s beloved.

You may be starting from the ground-up in some areas of your life like:

  • Career change
  • Marriage
  • Kids
  • New church
  • Diet
  • Work-out
  • … you get the idea

These kind of changes are big and obvious. You’re working somewhere else now! You’re now having sleepovers with the coolest person ever. A very loud, messy, yet adorable person is now depending on YOU for survival…

Yet so much of our life-building and dream-chasing is hidden and unseen. It’s often not glamorous or BIG DEAL status.

For instance, I think we can all agree that getting a roof on your house is a BIG DEAL. It’s nice to know you won’t get sunburned while taking a shower. 😉

It’s easy to forget about all the other parts that make a big difference – square corners, leveled floors, electrical wiring, etc.

Note: I have 0% experience in house-building, so grace is appreciated!

As you take steps toward being more intentional with your time and energy, the journey may be slow and unglamorous. You may have setbacks.

And that’s okay.

House have deadlines to be completed.

Humans don’t. (Yay!!)

So,  if you’re being hard on yourself for not making as much progress as you want, remember that you’re not a house.

Keep moving forward with the little changes you’re making.

Progress is still progress.

Live intentionally with passion and purpose as God’s beloved!
