What it’s like to work with Cortney
Do you often feel like you’ll never figure out who God created you to be (while fellow Christians seem to be “doing it right”)?
Christian life coaching
Work with me to finally figure out what your God-given gifts are, how you can use them, and ultimately embrace who God created you to be so you can have the confidence to live authentically.
During our 1:1 personalized sessions, we’ll do that by…
Discover your God-given gifts
Sometimes we struggle to identify and enjoy our God-given gifts because we don’t understand ourselves in the first place and might be overcomplicating what our gifts could be. To kick off our time together, we’ll use a variety of personality assessment tools and resources to uncover your unique, God-given gifts. Maybe when you hear your pastor preach on using your spiritual gifts, you feel yourself shrinking in on yourself – do you even have gifts? How do you know you’re using them?
We’ll do this step first so you can finally push past the hurdle of wondering what your gifts are and start leaning into them each day. As we unlock new, exciting insights and affirm how well you already know yourself, you’ll look at yourself and your life with fresh eyes and new energy, which will boost your confidence and peace of mind.
Strategize how you can embrace your gifts
To have the confidence to live authentically, it’s important to get clear on your values, priorities, goals, and key relationships. These are the guideposts that impact how you make decisions, solve problems, and build relationships – all of which benefit from using your God-given gifts! Maybe you find yourself continually second-guessing whether or not you’re making the “right” decision and it stops you from taking action.
As you get clear on your priorities, goals, and key relationships, we’ll apply a model that looks at your strengths, limitations, opportunities, and threats to understand where you are, and develop a compelling vision for where you want to be. Armed with your vision and objective data about your life, you’ll be able to move forward with peace and confidence. The result? No more second-guessing yourself! Clear, laser-focused, priorities and goals will fuel your confidence, inform your actions, and be more authentically you in your relationships (without the guilt).
Clear out your roadblocks
We’ll dig into what’s stopping you from discovering and embracing your God-given gifts, which involves exploring how you see yourself and your circumstances. Maybe you secretly feel guilty that you’re not fully using your gifts yet also think you’ll have to wait until you have less on your plate to finally get to use them.
By applying reflection, Scripture, and practical faith-building strategies, we’ll begin to rewire your brain so you have a solid foundation to love who you are and accept who you’re not. We’ll do this step second so that you’ll be more confident about your God-given value, know how to filter unhelpful messages about who you “should” be to be a “good Christian,” and get clearer on what matters most to you… all of which builds upon the gifts you’ll have discovered.
Confidently and authentically use your gifts
You’re ready to put your new head and heart knowledge to work! During this step, we’ll implement your strategies to focus on your top priorities and goals. No more feeling guilty about choosing what fills your cup and helps you be the best version of you – like an invigorating swim, saying “no” to activities you dread, or even volunteering for the cause that you’re secretly passionate about!
You’ll implement customized life-giving ideas that help you choose healthy, energizing and loving actions that leverage your unique strengths and accommodate any limitations. We’ll also take time to reflect, assess, and tweak your approaches so that you can focus on what matters most to you and adjust when “life happens.” You’ll find yourself actively embracing and using your God-given gifts in both the small and big decisions… resulting in you having the confidence to live authentically.
Consider me your personal cheerleader whose allll about bringing out the best in YOU!
Here’s the thing.
You’re meant for so much MORE than feeling like you’re not measuring up in your own life and not living up to your potential. You’re created to THRIVE as the unique individual God created you to be.
In fact, I believe that as God’s beloved children, we’ve received the “Spirit of full acceptance,” which frees us from the fear of never being good enough (Romans 8:14-16 TPT) so that we can then fully step into our identity as God’s workmanship, masterpiece, handiwork, work of art, and poem (Ephesians 2:10 TPT), and truly embrace the rich and satisfying life that Jesus offers (John 10:10).
One of my greatest joys is supporting fellow believers in discovering, accepting, and embracing their God-given gifts.
Because when you dig deep into who God created you to be…
As your coach, I’m committed to being one of your greatest cheerleaders, creative problem-workers, and dream-supporters. Sound like the kind of person you need on your team?
Schedule your complimentary virtual coffee chat so we can figure out your next right step.
During this free 20-minute call, we’ll discuss your current circumstances, what seems to be getting in the way of embracing your God-given gifts, and what working together could look like.
Ultimately, my hope is that you end our call feeling seen, valued, and equipped for whatever next step you decide to take. This one call could be just what you need to shift from merely surviving to confidently thriving (instead of waiting for Someday to finally make it happen!)
Got questions about Christian life coaching?
Ultimately, Christian life coaching is all about helping believers in Christ pursue their big goals. and priorities in a way that is in alignment with their faith in Jesus.
Christian life coaching is NOT…
- Focused on trying to make you become someone else. God made you YOU on purpose and we’re here to celebrate that.
- Preferring one personality type over another. There are no “good” or “bad” personalities. Each personality type is valuable in its own right.
- Focused on using self-awareness as a weapon or shield. Instead, it’s about owning our own growth, becoming more self-aware, and more effective in our lives.
- A substitute for therapy. Christian life coaching focuses more on enhancing personal and professional skills while therapy typically deals with more complex mental health challenges.
- A quick fix. Personal growth and development take time, effort, and commitment. It’s a journey – like learning how to live intentionally with passion and purpose as God’s beloved!
- A guarantee of success. While it equips you with tools and strategies to become the best version of yourself, it’s ultimately up to YOU to do the work.
- One-size-fits-all. Just as each personality is unique, the coaching experience should be tailored to meet the specific needs and goals of each client.
You’re likely ready to begin Christian life coaching with me if you are…

- Willing to do the work involved in personal growth
- Interested in using what you’ve learned through coaching to help others

… then Christian life coaching with me may be exactly what you need. Essentially it’s all about embracing who God intended you to be (including your strengths and weaknesses) so you can become more self-aware, confident, and effective in your day-to-day life.
From a faith perspective, it’s a game-changer when you realize that God has uniquely equipped you for great purpose. You’re here to make an impact in a way that only you can. Let’s unwrap that gift and better understand it together!
